Tour Information

Overview     6-8 h

The New City of Jerusalem showcases the major institutions that form the backbone of Israel's parliamentary democracy.

To better understand the context of the modern State of Israel, one must also reflect on the profound events of the Holocaust at Yad Vashem, gaze in awe at the Dead Sea Scrolls drafted over 2,000 years ago and view the dramatic model of Jerusalem revealed in its full glory as it appeared during the Second Temple Period and the time of Jesus.

As part of the Jerusalem New City Tour, you can combine a visit to the picturesque village of Ein Kerem, traditionally known as the birthplace of John the Baptist and the site where the Virgin Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth, wife of Zechariah.

Optional Highlights
  • Knesset (Israel's Parliament)

  • Supreme Court

  • Israel Museum

  • Second Temple Model (Jerusalem at the time of Jesus)

"I first had the opportunity of touring with you at Yad Vashem nine years ago. Your knowledge of the subject matter and the breadth of your presentation were the best I have had while touring Israel, and this is from someone who has been to Israel nearly 40 times in 40 years."
